No, many Afghans look caucasoids. Pamiris speak Pamiri languages which are closely related to Pashto and other East Iranian languages whereas Nuristanis speak Nuristani languages which are a third separate branch of Indo-Iranian. Burusho look caucasoids and have been living there for over 40,000 years still speaking a language isolate.
Pathans in regions of India hail from Afghanistan & border region of Afghanistan-Pakistan.

You can find Afghans in isolated mountain villages eg. in Laghman, Nuristan, Paktika, Hunza and Badakhshan but also common in other areas. Many Afghans have green eyes and Pashtuns are sometimes called green eyed people. Blond hair are common in Nuristanis. Some Afghans also have orange/red hair but most have dark hair. Predominantly, Afghans look Mediterraneans but they have higher frequency of green eyes and sharper noses. However, there is a very high diversity and the Persian-speaking Hazara, Uzbeks and the Tajiks.

I'm a Tajik from the North, and we all have blond hair. The only Tajiks who look mongolite, are the one's who live close to China. Please get your fact correct before generalizing.
ReplyDeleteHi Mahjooba, thanks for your correction I have modified it.
ReplyDeleteGenetically Tajik and pashtun have closest links. Study research papers on pashtun and Tajik genetic linkages. Tajik pamiries and pashtun have no specific difference
